Hindu Testimonies

100 Women Accepted Christ at Women's Conference
The conference was held in August 2003. There are 4 million in the district, but less than 1% are Christian. This citywide event was designed to reach the educated women of the city. By 10AM over 100 women had come, mostly college students and some professors. The mayor of the city, a Hindu woman, inaugurated the program. She talked about the women's problems.

After that, Saji talked in depth about the problems of the Indian women and the reasons for their suffering and oppression. He introduced the Christ of the Bible and what He teaches about human problems. This was the first many had heard of Christ. One woman said, "I never heard about this before. Thanks for coming to our city." After Saji's teaching, a wmoen's leader from the MI office spoke on Submission.

When we challenged them to receive Christ and to become a new person in Christ, all of them stood up and prayed the sinners prayer. The Holy Spirit had prepared the hearts of these women. Today, our local missionary has a few discipleship groups as a result of the conference. We spent only $300 to conduct the conference and provide lunch! What a harvest!

A Great Healing

Rina, a 20 year old girl, was suffering from tuberculosis for many months. Her backbone was getting damaged due to this infection. She had stopped eating food for 4 days. Her parents brought her to our missionary for prayer. He shared the gospel with this girl and she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. He prayed for her for two hours and then she began to eat food. She slowly began to recover. Now she is able to walk and she attends the Sunday worship. God is doing great things in her life. She is recovering from bad health. Praise God for His faithfulness.

Depression to Joy

Mahesh, is a young Sindhi boy who comes from a wealthy family. He was depressed and under mental tension for many years. There was no peace or joy in his life. This made him very sad and he had no interest in life. He started seeking joy among his friends and worldly things. He fell into bad habits and his condition became even worse. He spent a lot of money on drinking and smoking. Our missionary, along with his church members, started praying for this boy. God answered their prayers and this boy heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. Now he is a completely changed person and has found untold joy and everlasting peace.
Why the Waste?
Recently, Saji and Moni were at Calvary Bible Church in Ypsilanti, MI. Vinay drove to this church to meet with us personally and it was an exciting moment for both of our families. We heard the powerful stories of both Vinay and Nina.

Vinay comes from a Brahmin background in India. Despite the strong beliefs of his parents, Vinay always questioned the religious traditions. When he saw his parents pouring milk on their family god, he questioned why they would waste the milk when hundreds of children were begging for food in the neighborhood. After graduating college, he moved to the US and became a Computer Engineer. He would often wonder what it was that made America different than India. He started inquiring about the claims of Christ and he finally dedicated his life to Christ.

Nina's parents were attending a Christian church in Michigan when she was born. However, they soon left the church and became atheists. Nina always had a longing to know more about God. She did accept Christ as her savior, but during college she became interested in Eastern religion, specifically Buddhism. She was studying the Chinese culture and received a degree in Chinese language. Despite her involvement, she still always felt a call to God. One day, she asked God to open her heart to the true religion. She repented of her backsliding and rededicated her life to God.

Vinay and Nina live in Michigan with their 2 sons. After committing their lives to Christ, they decided to make a difference in India by changing the lives of children. So in their search they found out about the ministry of RIMI through our website (www.RIMI.org). Today they are sponsoring 5 children through RIMI and they consider it as a great joy and privilege.

Hope and Healing

Many times our missionary faced persecutions from the local people. Yet God used him to prove Jesus is truly the Living God. Kala Sonwane was constantly sick and the doctors could not help her. They said that she would die soon. Her Hindu parents took her to a local magician, but they could not meet the man. Instead they were invited to attend a prayer meeting conducted by A. During this fasting prayer, Kala heard the Word of God and her life was changed and she was completely healed.
