Vinay comes from a Brahmin background in India. Despite
the strong beliefs of his parents, Vinay always questioned the religious
traditions. When he saw his parents pouring milk on their family god,
he questioned why they would waste the milk when hundreds of children
were begging for food in the neighborhood. After graduating college, he
moved to the US and became a Computer Engineer. He would often wonder
what it was that made America different than India. He started inquiring
about the claims of Christ and he finally dedicated his life to Christ.
Nina's parents were attending a Christian church in Michigan when she
was born. However, they soon left the church and became atheists. Nina
always had a longing to know more about God. She did accept Christ as
her savior, but during college she became interested in Eastern religion,
specifically Buddhism. She was studying the Chinese culture and received
a degree in Chinese language. Despite her involvement, she still always
felt a call to God. One day, she asked God to open her heart to the true
religion. She repented of her backsliding and rededicated her life to
God.
Vinay and Nina live in Michigan with their 2 sons. After committing their
lives to Christ, they decided to make a difference in India by changing
the lives of children. So in their search they found out about the ministry
of RIMI through our website (www.RIMI.org). Today they are sponsoring
5 children through RIMI and they consider it as a great joy and privilege.
